Uni?

Been having these thoughts recently, which I think is REALLY relevant to especially JC students.

1 question, why do teachers keep emphasising the grades we need to get into NUS, NTU and SMU? Ok I understand that it's a method to motivate us to work harder to achieve these grades, but the thing is, why do they keep saying as though there are only these 3 universities in Singapore? There's such thing as a private u, FYI.

Of course, especially students who study in neighbourhood school would have no chance to fight with students from those top JCs. I mean come on I think our grades are lousier than theirs since primary school la, at least for most of us. That's why we enter neighbourhood schools what. So seriously, is there a point to work so hard that we're on the verge of breaking down? It's not that we need not work hard, we still need to. But is there a need to force ourselves to slough our guts out? I don't think so, seriously.

Maybe I'm wrong, but what I know is that when it comes to degrees, most companies only look at whether you have a degree or not and for what, and not which university you come from. So if 2 people, one from NUS and another from a private university, apply for the same job, they have the equal chance to get the job.

I may be wrong, I dont know. But if I'm right, why should students only consider the 3 "recognised" universities? We not only have to fight for places with other school kids, but also foreigners. With places so bloody limited, how is it even possible? Why do teachers have to make it a point that you'd die if you dont get a place? Doesnt that mean that many people are dead by now?

Of course, I need to emphasis that we still need to study hard, but it's just that what if your results are not as satisfying as what you expect? Repeat? I'd rather die than go through this shit again.

OK! Put all these shit aside. Glee has ended its 1st season. The last episode was (Y)! <3 Can't wait for season 2! :)
